What is Undecanal?
Undecanal, aswell accepted as undecyl aldehyde, is an amoebic admixture with the actinic blueprint C10H21CHO. It is an eleven-carbon aldehyde. A colourless, adipose liquid, undecanal is a basic of perfumes. Although it occurs by itself in citrus oils, it is produced commercially by hydroformylation of decene.
It has been registered beneath the EU REACH arrangement at >1000 tonnes by Oxea, which confirms the cachet as irritant.
