Methyl antimony trioxide (VII) is used together with hydrogen peroxide to catalyze the oxidation reaction. For example, the oxidized olefin and a certain amount of the catalyst methyl ruthenium (VII) are mildly reacted at room temperature to obtain a corresponding epoxide, and the yield is high.
It is also suitable for the oxidation of phenol to hydrazine, the oxidation of benzaldehyde to phenols, the oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides and the oxidation of tertiary carbons to tertiary alcohols.
Methyltrioxorhenium(VII) as catalyst for epoxidations,is used with H2O2 for oxidation of a variety of substrates.
